Goodnight, John-boy
The comedy thriller series based on Pat’s experiences in comics. Includes the hilarious story of the comic Aaagh! was torn up on live TV … and how its editor hit back.
A wonderful read. An unsolved murder, Secret religious sects, Revenge killings, Celebrity misdoings, Angry nuns, Liquorice pipes and all set around the bizarre happenings of a comics publishing company in the 1970’s – what more could you ask for?
This book is everything I enjoyed in “Serial Killer”, turned up to 11, (sometimes 13). Then there’s the twisted history of British comics. If you have seen Future Shock! or read Pat Mills’ “Be Pure! Be Vigilant! Behave!”,, you will know that quite a lot of the story-line has a basis of reality in it, murders aside, (I hope).
The script excerpts of Maudling’s biggest comics hit, The Caning Commando, are hilarious, and so true to the style of comic strips at that point in time. Naturally enough: Mills was there, writing those comics, his experience and knowledge shine through on every page.

And how Fandom disagreed with them.
Includes 11 chapters, a ‘Skull Duggery Timeline’ of the creation and early episodes, and illustrations of key scenes, including the original helmeted version of Sláine, how the artists based Sláine on themselves, and the greatest warp spasm of all!
