To whet your appetite ahead of our new comic SPACEWARP launching this summer, we’ve got interviews with some of the creative team.
Big thanks to Phil Vaughan, our friend and Senior Lecturer in Comics at the University of Dundee, who not only put these interviews together, but is also creating a Spacewarp promo trailer, which we will be sharing soon!
First up, Phil chats with Pat Mills:
Next we have Bruno Stahl, artist co-creator on JURASSIC PUNX:

This looks really great – I’ll be getting a copy and hoping my nine-year-old picks it up. Aim it directly at the kids with smart writing and you can’t go wrong.
Sounds and looks great – really think there is a need for an exciting publication like this without, lets say, supposedly ‘mature’ elements that make things unsuitable for younger readers (- I mean crassness masquerading as maturity, & not advocating bowdlerizing stuff) . But at the same time remain intelligent, creative, strange, etc. But aren’t product/market contrived but are story/image/scenario-led.
I don’t necessarily think that younger readers today are deprived or need to be prescribed stuff like the things we enjoyed, but there is a special kind of excitement particular to the comic, the print-form, stories and image, anticipation of the serialised story etc. It catches and holds your attention and generates excitement like nothing else (but this is stuff that everybody’s agreed on…)
Gonna get one for myself and throw one at some younger relatives & see what they think anyway.
Very exciting, can’t wait! Well done, Pat and everyone involved. Raising a glass to salute all your hard work!
Delighted to hear this will be released soon – can I also ask when Volume 3 of Serial Killer will be released
Hi David, I’ve got Book 3, The Grim Reader, planned out, but it’s not written yet. Spacewarp took over, I’m afraid! Hopefully next year.
Great interviews!
Absolutely delighted to hear this is coming to fruition. Certainly got me salivating anyway.
